Shonk Leadership School

Ben Upton

Last week, our fraternity chapter from the University of Central Missouri (UCM) had the incredible opportunity to attend the Shonk Leadership School in Indianapolis. This annual event brings together fraternity members from across the country to develop leadership skills, share ideas, and strengthen our bonds of brotherhood.

Engaging Workshops and Seminars

Throughout the weekend, we participated in a variety of workshops designed to enhance our leadership capabilities:

Advanced Leadership:

We learned to become better leaders, in the chapter, and outside of college life. We discussed various topics like, leadership styles, challenges, and discussed with former chapter presidents on their experiences.

Recruitment:

At the recruitment seminar, we learned how to use various tools to improve fraternity recruitment, and had group discussions with active brothers to share wisdom on how they garnered success in recruitment

Treasurer:

On the treasurer track, our brothers learned the many responsibilities a chapters treasurer may experience, as well as had a guest speaker whom was a former treasurer. The treasurer track also covered GreekBill, a web app we as a chapter use to collect membership dues.
